Still working the National Guard issues - I'm trying to keep everything that anyone says or sends documented..the file is huge...actually files...like 15 of them at this point. Ridiculous that someone should have to fight for something so simple. If a civilian employer had an injured employee on the job, they would not be able to do this without expecting a lawsuit. How can the military violate their own policies to screw their Soldiers? It aggravates me to no end that I know that there are all these Soldiers out there fighting for common decency in an organization that they would have given their lives for. Sickening.
NGB says that Fred was on revolving orders and they were in their right to not renew them based on his non-deployable status. There is no "guarantee" that orders will be renewed. We understand that, but what they keep skipping over and NO ONE will answer is that he was let go off of the orders while injured and it clearly states that anyone with a pre-existing or new medical injury/condition will be put through a MEB/PEB board prior to REFRAD. He has not. They've told him they will try to get him INCAP pay (which gives him a portion of his pay, but no benefits for any of us) - the thing is the policy says no one on orders for more than 30 days is eligible. But they are asking (without our permission)for an EXCEPTION TO POLICY for him. The thing is - they don't need an exception to the policy that gives him full pay and benefits, they are just refusing to do it. The IG knows that they are violating the maximum travel distance policy - his response was to fix it for Fred. He KNOWS that they are violating the rights of at LEAST another 50 soldiers by involuntarily mobilizing them with a unit in the mountains...but he's doing nothing. They all turn their heads the other way. It's disgusting. I never thought an organization that is supposed to be a higher standard of ethics and morals would be SO far below common human decency. It shocks me daily. And it makes me sure that my children will never serve in the Armed Forces of this country. After the way I have seen them treat their father during this process, I will never allow my children and their families to face this struggle. They have injured him. They have left him with no work. And they do nothing.

Can you send editorials to various papers in order to have your voice heard? Maybe, small chance, that would make a difference?
